101 GOALS!

In the 2021/2022 season, Emma Chaffey became the first Hitchin Town Women FC player to ever reach 100 appearances. She bagged some goals across the next couple of years and ended up, finishing the 2023/2024 season on 99 goals. So along comes the first game of the 2024/2025 season. The game got underway and who else but Chaffey, six minutes into the match, she fired into the net being the first HTWFC player to reach over 100 appearances & now goals. Six minutes later she hit 101 slotting home a penalty.

Callum Ellis said,

Chaffey for me has been a huge role model in my past eight years working in the women’s system. She was my first choice captain, she would be at games early, training in all weathers even if she was sidelined through injury she’d still be there. She has volunteered at HTFC, stewarding and she has been a real asset within the HTFC family. She is a familiar face across Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire with many teams complimenting her technique & skill. Each year she mentions she is retiring however being the wife of the Chairperson it isn’t as easy! She is one of the first people signed on every season.

Chaffey joined HTWFC in 2014, and quickly became an influential voice in the changing rooms. Ten years later, 125 appearances later, she scores twice to take her tally over the 100 mark.

Congratulations on your achievement Chaff!
