There was something to cheer on this rather damp and cold night. After the chairman’s introduction and summary of our season we saw the first awards handed out.

The Gerald Lincoln Memorial Trophy went to Jack Green and Isaac Galliford, our England ‘C’’ International received the Supporters’ Club Player of the year honour. Media Man Stewart Curtis had his valuable work recognised by being granted the Club Man of The year award.

Manager Mark Burke called for lights out, which was eventually managed and he went through a slide show of awards. This was a humorous presentation and revealed much ‘behind the scenes’ activity, but in the serious moments he paid homage to the Executive Committee and the fine work of photographer Peter Else. Also mentioned in despatches were the volunteers and the ground staff – and acknowledged that the club was indebted to the efforts of all of these.

The Manager’s Player of the Season is always a coveted award and it went to Isaac Galliford, who also picked up equally prestigious Player’ Player of the Season.

Players then made their own humorous awards and some of these caused great merriment, but they did not fail to mention their sincere appreciation of the notable support – specially mentioning the sizeable and constant travelling support that always boosted their efforts.
