We’ve got a huge FA Cup replay match at Leatherhead on Wednesday night and we’d love to see many Canaries there cheering on our team as they attempt to reach Round One for the first time in 23 years.
To help any Hitchin Town FC supporters as possible make the journey, we’ve put together a little travel guide on getting to Leatherhead from Hitchin!
It’s a 62-mile journey from Top Field to Leatherhead’s Fetcham Grove, but with it being a Wednesday evening and having a fair stretch of the M25 to contend with, it’s not the kindest drive!
To get to Fetcham Grove around an hour before kick-off, grab a pre-match pint and a pie, you would have to aim to leave Hitchin between 4pm and 4.30pm and anticipate a lovely two-hour journey (or even more on a bad day).
The journey itself is straightforward, with a drive up the M1 to junction 6a, before joining the M25 at junction 21. You then travel on the M25 for a fair chunk of the journey to junction 9 and exit to get on the A243 to Leatherhead, which is 3-4 miles to the ground.
For the car parks carry on down the road for a hundred yards and you can park free of charge in the Leisure Centre.
A return train journey between Hitchin and Leatherhead is, on average, about two hours long & with two changes. A standard adult return ticket will cost £29.60.
Leatherhead train station is a 0.5 mile, 10-minute walk from the ground. The best trains to get from Hitchin to Leatherhead on Wednesday are the following:
