CIDER AND CHEESE FESTIVAL SUCCESS!
It really is all over. Now for the football.
Saturday brought the curtain down on our ever-popular cider festival.
Our country-wide cider selection was very popular and the food offering proved to be a big hit with an increased selection of cheeses.
We had a brilliant line up of music – Shaun Clark, Table 19, The Glee Club, Jasmin and, of course, the world-famous Sandy Ukulele band!
We were delighted to welcome a group of 40 international ramblers who were intrigued by the idea of a cider festival and just could not enough after a fifteen-mile hike around the area. However, pride of place must go to local rugby players Oliver and Neil who sampled all 30 boxed ciders and walked away to tell the tale – an awesome achievement gentlemen. They are coming back next year to try the low alcohol ones!
A very big vote of thanks is due to our corporate and private sponsors as well as those who help in providing expertise and equipment. Thank you to Paul at The Plume Ickleford, Glen at The Fox Willian and Freddy at The Half Moon Hitchin. Our event volunteers who help serve food and cider, set up and clear up. We could not do it without you.
All profits go to improve facilities at our Club. See you again next year on 2 & 3 July 2027.
