COMMUNITY DEFIBRILLATOR FOR TOP FIELD
We are delighted to confirm the installation of a Community Access Defibrillator at Top Field. This critical life saving device is now available on the front of the Canary Club and is accessible to any members of the community 24 hours a day.
Vice Chairman Paul Sprague commented on the important addition to Top Field:
While for many years we have had a Defibrillator in the ground on matchdays, we have wanted to introduce one that is permanently accessible to the whole community 24 hours a day. When Roy decided that any profits from his Testimonial match would be split between the Club and the British Heart Foundation this provided the perfect opportunity. We have used some of the Club’s portion of the income from Friday night’s match and this has been match funded by the Department of Health and Social Care, enabling us to purchase and install this life saving device. We hope that it will never have to be used, but in the event it is required please dial 999 and they will provide you with the key code for accessing the cabinet. You do not need any form of medical training to use the device as it will provide spoken instructions and will only work in the event that the patient needs it.
Huge thank you to everyone that will be attending tomorrow night’s testimonial game at Top Field and we hope you are all pleased with how we have chosen to invest some of the income for the benefit of our local community.
