Hitchin Town will welcome Cambridgeshire side Godmanchester Rovers in the First Qualifying Round of the 2018-19 FA Cup. The match will be played at Top Field on Saturday 8th September, kicking off at 3pm.
Godmanchester Rovers, nicknamed Goddy, currently compete in the Step 9 Eastern Counties League Premier Division, where they finished 4th of 24 teams last season. They will arrive in Hertfordshire having already performed in two rounds of this season’s competition, beating Newport Pagnell Town 2-0 at home in the Extra Preliminary Round before comfortably dispatching Thetford Town 5-0 away in the Preliminary Round last Friday.
In fact, in reaching the stage, the club has already equalled their record performance in the FA Cup, having reached the First Qualifying Round back in 2009-10.
