Hitchin Town FC history was made this evening as Isaac Galliford became the first ever Canaries player to play for the England C team, making his debut as a 55th minute substitute away to the Estonia under 23s international side.

With Dad Robert proudly watching on, Isaac entered the field of play with the game goalless. Just minutes later, England won a free-kick on the edge of the box which Galliford, with almost his first touch of the ball, struck the upright.

It was as close at the England side came, with the Estonians grabbing two late goals to inflict a fairly harsh sounding defeat on the Three Lions lads.

Thank you to Rob Worrall at NLFullTime for the updates throughout the trip, as well as these great photos, with Dad Robert proudly wearing Isaac’s shirt from our Emirates FA Cup First Round fixture vs Solihull Moors. A truly wonderful photo which will be proudly displayed at the Club.

A podcast of all the action and the trip to Tallinn is available here, including a post-match interview with Isaac on 38 minutes.

After a fantastic season in yellow and green, Galliford will return home to the UK with one of these England caps. What a way to end the campaign.

Isaac, we’re incredibly proud of you, well done.
