HITCHIN WELLBEING HUB LAUNCHES
We are very happy to announce that Garden House Hospice are launching their 12th Wellbeing Hub and it is based at Hitchin Town FC! Opening for the first time on Monday 21st October 2024, this brand new community session will run every Monday, 1.30-3.30pm.
The latest of their hugely popular weekly drop-in hubs, which are run by our amazing volunteer Compassionate Neighbours, offer the opportunity for attendees to:
- Join them for a cup of tea and a chat
- Talk and be listened to by one of their team members
- Gain information about their therapies and support services
- Join them in a seated exercise group
- Take part in creative and fun activities that promote health and wellbeing
- Feel more in control and live life to its greatest potential
We know anecdotally that people who attend the hubs feel they see their GP less, and recent research shows that they feel 20% less alone and more connected to their community. Loneliness is one of the biggest public health challenges we face.
If you know someone who would benefit from attending one of their Wellbeing Hubs, a full list of locations and times can be found at https://www.ghhospicecare.org.uk/wellbeing-hubs
