Hitchin Town FC have linked up with local initiative ‘Feed Up, Warm Up’ ahead of a fundraiser event this weekend at Cultivo Lounge in Letchworth.

The Canaries have provided a prize of 4 x match tickets to the Halesowen fixture at Top Field on December 15th, as well as a signed match ball from Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup First Round versus Solihull Moors. These prizes can be won by entering the raffle at Cultivo Lounge on Leys Avenue, Letchworth this Saturday (17th) from 4pm.

The ‘Feed Up, Warm Up’ initiative is run by local man Shane Cole, who once spent time on the streets himself and wants to help other homeless people this Christmas. Shane will run this from in conjunction with his catering business “CC’s Street Food” and it will be based at the Scout hut next to Our Lady’s Catholic Church on Nightingale Road in Hitchin each Wednesday evening throughout December between the hours of 6pm and 9pm. Not only will fresh hot meals be available for free to those in need, but also food parcels, warm clothes, haircuts, sanitary items and counselling.

As a football club that’s proud of its strong links to the local community, we feel it’s important to help to those in need. The winter months can be incredibly cruel to the homeless, so when we were asked to help Shane and his initiative, we didn’t have any second thoughts.
