Re: "New" signings

I don't care if it was a "lost address book" if these guys can do the business week after week and get us points to move up the table then I for one will be happy.

Re: All Our Yesterdays

You could field a good team from among those players who have left us. Clubs will inevitably lose players for a multitude of reasons, Hitchin seem to have a desire to start each season with a virtually entire new squad. Darren, out of interest is it the football or the beer you travel for?

Re: Season So Far

I agree with Neil. Virtually all Football Clubs are commercial entities whose primary objective is to raise money for themselves. It's highly unlikely that a Football Club would qualify for Charitable status. It would need an examination of each clubs Articles of Association and its Aims & Objective...

Re: Season So Far

Brett may well be right. I am certainly aware of two clubs in lower leagues where the top players are earning £400 - £500 per week. I have no idea at all, nor am I asking what players at Hitchin get. I do wonder (and I am not firing bullets Chris N) whether the club is undervaluing itself. In other ...

Re: Banbury penalties.

That is more or less what I thought. Watch the video of the penalties and tell me what you think.

Banbury penalties.

I have watched the videos of the two penalties we were awarded yesterday some 20+ times. Neither of our penalty takers covered themselves in glory, BUT in my opinion the officials were clearly at fault. The Banbury goalkeeper looked to have moved before the ball was struck, and was a metre or more o...

Bernie Gogan's Funeral

This afternoon I travelled to Milton Keynes for the funeral of former Canary Bernie Gogan. It was standing room only as family, friends and colleagues from the world of football paid their respects. I think I am correct in saying that every club he played for was represented, bar one, Hitchin Town F...

Re: Kings Langley match postponed!

Apparently they have had to install a completely new drainage system and relay the pitch. Additional problems were discovered after the old playing surface was lifted. Yes, it is disappointing but it can't be helped. On the plus side, as Mark Burke points out, it gives the injured players a little m...

Sponsorship

Firstly, thanks to Mick Docking for producing an excellent business/sponsorship brochure, a thoroughly professional job. I hope I'm not treading on Mick's toes here, but why not put one of these brochures in front of your boss? They stand to gain a lot from sponsorship, and the more people trying to...
