Re: Geoff Thomason
Sad news Lovely guy. Remember him for being one of about five Hitchin folks who made it down to Bideford for one of our games down there. He will be greatly missed. RIP Geoff. He drove Bryan, Matt (RIP) and me down to Bideford for a pre-Xmas game, and sensibly had a pre-match walk around the town wh...

Re: Ship Lane Purfleet/Thurrock
Meanwhile East Thurrock call it a day - although their ground is still used by Basildon Town.

Re: Callum Stead
Potentially very good player. Having an agent probably didn’t help but also was he not tee total so I think we know the answer to the question above.
Was an agent also the reason Calum went off to South Shields?

Re: Our Home Grown Match Reporters
I have some of Sascha’s, Roy’s and mine. Happy to compare lists. It’s Neil’s reports from earlier that I don’t have any of.

Re: Our Home Grown Match Reporters
Would be great if all of this information could be compiled in one place and made accessible/archived for everyone to access. Unfortunately, it needs time to do this. All Neil's (and Sascha's and some other person's) reports were on the old website - going back to approx 2005. Were they saved somew...

Re: Teams we are likely to face in the league next season
I'm pleased we have kept Mickleover out of the three we got from the NPL last season. Stamford is a nice surprise - great town and decent pubs. Train journey beckons for that one. Only two new grounds for me - Long Eaton and AFC Telford. Telford ground is pretty grand for Step 3. Telford less so. W...

Re: Teams we are likely to face in the league next season
Why would Long Eaton be in a different league to the 3 East Midlands clubs that have been shunted back to NPL? Pity there wasn't another excuse to go to Nottingham next season! Stick Leamington in the other Southern League and they can drive up and down the M5 all season - and Nuneaton and all the o...

Re: Well Done Barton and Stotfold!
How the nearly mighty have fallen. Can't imagine Trey Charles' agent letting him stay at St Neots next season!

Re: Hitchin Football 1923
"The Strawberry Pickers" is a far better nickname than "The Fenmen", and is gender neutral for good measure. And was their mascot a real cat?!
