Re: Prediction Game - Final Table

Well done for organising Steve and well done to the winners.

Feeling really gutted though as I'm very confident my predictions for the 10 unplayed games were all spot on, so pretty sure I would have won had the season played out in full

Apologies, my phone isn't very good for photos (looks as if this was taken at night, not half an hour ago!) and apparently I'm not very good at centralising letters

25th March 1995 Diadora League

Hitchin 0 Hayes 0

A clean sheet for 'Stretch'. 'Binman' at 4.
Probably about 7 yellow cards for dirty Hayes?!

Re: History Today

Ah yes, Paul Bowgett, who I remember managing to score a penalty that squirmed through the keeper's arms, ending a sequence of probably 5 or 6 consecutive Canary penalty failures!

Given he only scored 8 goals for the club, I guess that makes it a 12.5% chance that it was in this game :geek:

Re: History Today

I wonder if the HCC had more spectators in those days. Sounds like a cracker!

Re: Lineker error ?

As we all know, there was no top flight football until the Premier League started in 1992! The 29th Feb 1992 was a Saturday, but ITV had the TV deal until Match of the Day returned for the start of the Premier League in August 1992. So no, there wasn't a Match of the Day on 29/2/1992.
