Re: Nuneaton

Very sad news.

I suppose the only blessing is that one less team will get relegated.

Re: Prediction - LEAMINGTON

Yes. I can only go on home games but I have a problem trying to remember a decent first half performance so far this season. I'm sure that Mark is aware of this but he certainly needs to do something to get them fired up from the word go. The ability to come from behind match after match can never b...

Re: Am I an optimist

Still got my fingers crossed in the hope that we can aquire the striker who would make all the difference. Don't know how they are doing it but Biggleswade appear to be hoovering up quite a collection of note worthy strikers.

Re: Neil Bunker, FA Cup Replay at Foggy Swindon Town

The first match was 1-1 and I remember it well because it was Neil Bunker who scored the equaliser with a towering header when he rose head and shoulders above everyone to power the ball into the top corner. It's like you say, a goal that you never forget because it's photographed into your memory.

Re: 'Tiddler' Cannon: Super Keeper

My father told a story about "Tiddler" Cannon. His friend said that in his opinion "Tiddler" was the best goalkeeper in the country. In those days my father used to follow the Arsenal, so he asked his friend if he would like to accompany him to their match against Man City whose ...

A statistical paradox

Despite a pleasing run late in the season we narrowly failed to finish in the top half of the table. But strangely (according to the Southern League website) a table based on home results only placed us in ninth place, whilst one based on away performance puts us eleventh, both just in the top half!

Re: What a game!

What a difference from a few weeks ago, when all we seemed to do was park the bus. As a result performances were invariably dreary. These last two home games have been far more entertaining as we have taken the game to the opposition a lot more and been rewarded for it. This was really evident in th...

Re: Chesterfield at Top Field tonight

All I can say to Jackie is please don't react to criticism. It's often better not to bother with having the last word and I think that's at the heart of the problem. Just make your point which very often is valid and leave it at that. Don't be too defensive.

A much improved performance

What a difference to recent performances. This was the best at home this season. OK so we didn't win, but for once we consistently took the game to the opposition and I thought unlucky not to win. Having had the most of the play and going close on numerous occasions it could have been a killer to go...

Re: Bedford Town v Hitchin Town

It's not just strikers that we need. We have a midfield that hardly ever gets over the halfway line and lacks creativity. The lack of goals is not just down to missed chances it's more a case of not making many. Another problem is a lack of aerial power up front. Most crosses go unchallenged. Corner...
