Re: South Eastern League 1901-8 & others

Fascinating stuff. Does this mean that Hitchin has a lifetime winning record against Fulham?

Re: History Today

OK then, you've twisted my arm, so I'll continue. But please feel free to join in (this is a forum!) 23 November 1929 Hitchin Town 1 Letchworth Town 1 Herts Charity Cup Round 1 A goal from Bertie Abbiss was enough to get this tie to a replay (which we lost 3-4 a week later). That day in 1929 was my...

Season So Far

What a miserable season so far. Luton may be OK, survival would be a job well done this season. Stevenage are a disaster. I expected them to challenge for promotion this season. At least they only have to outpoint one team this year to escape relegation. HTFC are continuing their downward spiral of ...

Re: Come On Ref

There should not be a glass ceiling in any profession. If the lady wants to pursue a career which includes officiating men's matches the only thing that should hold her back is her ability. Re: Mr. Pipeman

As I said in my original posting this is a very trivial matter. I do not agree with some of your conclusions Stuart but I do thank you for explaining a different viewpoint. Over this side of the pond officials are addressed in the same way as the players.

Mr. Pipeman

This is very trivial but I am curious. What does it say about the hierarchical system or culture in my native country that I left 50 years ago? I am talking about Pipeman's reports. Apparently the players are the working bees who are described by their first and last names. The officials, however, s...

Re: Womens World Cup 2019

I first started getting interested in the Women's World Cup in the US in 2015. I've been extremely impressed by the skill level and pace of the game this time around however what has impressed me most has been the improvement in the goal keepers. By the way, former England Women's Head Coach Mark S...

Re: Womens World Cup 2019

Let the market decide. If you do not enjoy watching the Women's World Cup do something else. I believe these women are elite athletes, have decent technical ability and put on a very good show. I have enjoyed the ride.
