Re: Ship Lane Purfleet/Thurrock

Went here once and probably unique as only club ive been to that did not have a clubhouse of there own (They used next doors hotel bar).

Not partically a fond memory owing to Purfleet lacking fans so was a bit like the Team Bath experience. Big enough ground no fans no noise.

Re: DAVID KIRBY

He or Ron the first face many inc myself saw whenever I visited Top Field.

Had noticed i'd not seen him about in recent months and with Dave that was quite telling sadly as he was always seen out and about.

My condolences to Brian Neville and the family. RIP David.

Re: Prediction - NEEDHAM MARKET.

Think Bogey team is about right. Apart from hitting the post never really threatened but not through lack of trying. Needham had 2 good chances and scored them both and sat back on it in the 2nd half making things very difficult. There keeper did not have to make a save all match and there's just so...

Re: Prediction Game 2023-24

If you haven`t already thought about your predictions for this season now is the time to start. A gentle reminder that I will be collecting your entry forms / money this saturday. You will find me, once the gates open, just inside the turnstiles. Look forward to seeing lots of people. As per usual ...

Re: Jobsworth 1 Villager 0

One that springs to mind for me was a League Cup tie at Kings Lynn. Eight of us behind the goal (2 of which were seasoned hooligans John TG and Frank King). 25 and I mean 25 stewards to look after us. We all had our own personal steward called Les. Well, we had Les 1, Les 2 and Les 3 each!! Second ...

Re: Dan Webb's Testimonial Game

Hi Darren Marac and Freddie are the main commentators. We have a number of guest commentators who help out when required. Yesterday Josh Mollison commentated with Freddie whilst both Brett Donnelly and JCS have done stints on the mic. I think Ciaran Jones as well. I'm a match day volunteer when ava...

Re: Jobsworth 1 Villager 0

Could think of a few stories steward related all being at away clubs. Yeovil in 1996 memorable. Came through the gate and a steward spotted our colours. They marched us past the Yeovil fans down one side and closed the gate behind us. The away end was literally one end of the ground and there was ab...
