Re: Forum and its future
Would anyone happen to know the reason for the vanishing posts, as mentioned by Becca?

Re: Forum and its future
Whether it is on this board, or an unofficial one, debate has to proceed beyond basic topics, such as Mark Burke yes/no. Where are the deeper discussions about his tactics etc. Was being difficult to beat an appropriate approach to begin the season with. These are just examples;. Postings should pro...

Re: Forum and its future
For anyone who is interested in seeing what an unofficial fans forum might look like: https://lewesfc.proboards.com/thread/4464/plus-wage-bill-road-ruin Worth looking at even if it is only to read about one of the owners of Lewes FC putting in £600.000 per annum to reduce the losses made by the club...

Re: Forum and its future
Agree totally with your comments. Down here on the south coast, Lewes, Bognor Regis Town and Worthing, amongst others, all have 'unofficial' fan forums. The fact that they each have far more output than Hitchin's website suggests one or more fans needs to be prepared to devout a significant of time ...

Re: FA Cup Upset Notts County 2 Coalville Town 3
There is nothing like a good FA Cup run for non-league clubs.

Re: Chesterfield at Top Field tonight
Keep doing what you are doing. It sounds like you are developing your own style of commentary, which all commentators do as they gain more experience. You will never please every listener. Look at professional commentators, for example, Alan Green divides opinion. As for players, they always know if...

Re: Chesterfield at Top Field tonight
Sadly - probably time to close the forum down. The club's social media presence has improved markedly, but the forum is reflecting on the club badly - with or without Jackie! As some Level 2 clubs have shown, there is still a place for fan forums. However, these forums require almost full time conte...

Re: Chesterfield at Top Field tonight
Please read Jackie's comments again, it was not an attack on the excellent commentary team. She just expressed an opinion, as it seems other people have done directly on the subject. What is toxic is people only reading what they want to see in posts. Please take a look at the fan forums of some clu...

Re: Chesterfield at Top Field tonight
The trouble is if you take away Jackie's contributions to the forum you are left with almost no critical analysis of the team or the club as a whole. Many of you let your dislike of the woman obscure the possibility that some of her questions and points have merit. Is that the image the club wants t...

Re: Chesterfield at Top Field tonight
Jackie is not wrong - she just has a different opinion. If you want the praise you got to accept the criticism - whether you agree with it or not. For those of us of a certain age - Gerry Harrison commentating on games on Anglia Television involving Norwich City was a masterclass in how not to be ob...
