Re: Back or Sack

I am surprised that nobody has picked up Roy's comment "until our new stadium is in place making us more sustainable we will always be restricted". This is something that used to be a popular talking point but one that has fallen by the wayside in recent years. Given the recent large outla...

Next season

Well we got away with it this time, by the skin of our teeth, but much is to be done if we are to avoid a similar nail biting repeat next season. On the plus side we have a young squad with many having the potential to develop further and mature into valued and experienced team members, if we can ho...

Re: Dan Webb

A great captain and club servant. I hope he is able to carry on playing as he obviously loves the game. When he eventually hangs up his boots I am sure that he will be very welcome and valuable back at the club in some capacity

Re: Hitchin v Banbury Interview with Phil Coles & Irvin Morgan

I rarely give bad luck as an excuse for a defeat, but today is an exception. With several experienced players unavailable we put out a very young side that ran their socks off, hit the woodwork hard on three occasions, had the ball scrambled off the line twice and brought the best out of Banbury's k...

Re: Hitchin v Cheshunt 1949

First photo is definately taken from the Fishponds Road end. Second is from the other end, with the old wooden east stand in the background. I remember the Supporters Club sign although not sure of why it was there. Possibly an area reserved for them although I don't remember it as such.

Re: Time for change?

So all we need to do is get a gulf state to sponser us. No problem. Seriously though we desperately need to be able to fund a better team, but that's far from easy. This team displays plenty of effort but lacks pace and a cutting edge. The number of single goal defeats is frustrating. If we could ha...

Charlie Horlock

My MOTM versus Biggleswade. As well as an outstanding save early on when stopping a blistering shot, his performance during the final ten minutes or so when we came under pressure, as our pressing game ran out of steam, was exemplified by his immaculate handling when making a series of saves, ensuri...

Re: Prediction - REDDITCH

Thanks for your comments Jackie. Actually the defence played reasonably well. The first half was totally uneventful but Redditch had the better of it without causing too much trouble. So we were pretty solid but showed very little else. Second half we scored from our first real chance and as I said ...

Re: Prediction - REDDITCH

Our performance in the first half was probably the worst of the season. The Redditch keeper did not have a shot to save nor a cross to take out. The sum of his efforts were to take two goal kicks and three back passes. Going forward we had no pace or cohesion. It was really that bad. Second half did...

Re: Hitchin v Tamworth today

What I meant was that the ambulance arrived minutes after the Tamworth trainer told us 90 minutes. Agreed that he had been prone on the ground for a long time before that. I also thought the ambulance crew had him sitting up fairly quickly once they took over, so I believe I was right to hypothesise...
