Re: Restart date

My proposal:

1 - Restart in August
2 - mothball clubs until the summer
3- Suspend wages from step 3 downwards for 2021-22
4- Issue bonds/shares in clubs to raise capital
5- Reduce travel costs and pollution by reorganising leagues into smaller, more regional divisions

Football Weekends - Hitchin Town article

In this month's Football Weekends, there is a full colour feature on Hitchin Town by Rob Pritchard. Big photos of the Friar, Rupert, and the press box.

Re: Canaries Nickname

The Canaries nickname was first suggested in a meeting in the Angel Vaults pub when a group of people met to discuss starting the club up in 1928. The chairman wanted the club to have all-white as he was from Swansea and fancied having similar colours to his home town club. But somebody then piped u...

Re: FURTHER SUSPENSION OF THE LEAGUE SEASON

Non-league would be just as well in closing down until the all-clear sounds - slash the overheads, let the players go and dispense with the stop-start situation. And when it returns, let's have some realism about money, league structures and club ownership models. Otherwise, the wreckage will be ver...

Re: British Football's Greatest Grounds

A lot of grounds are notable for their location rather than the construct. The list was compiled by votes, which explains why so many non league grounds are included. I doubt most people have never heard of some of the grounds. But ignore the rankings, it is a stunning book. I haven’t stopped lookin...

Re: British Football's Greatest Grounds

Hitchin was 5th in the list...quite beautiful book in terms of photography. St. Albans was number three. Number one was Lewes! A book that will prompt great debate - clearly the ranking is very non-league biased, 100 great stadiums judged by non-league groundhopper, perhaps - very difficult to agree...

Re: Supporters Club

Thanks Chris for the explanation, of course the SC was independent, I realise that.
Did anyone communicate the folding of the SC to the members, then? I presume not.

Re: Supporters Club

Yes, I think the members deserved something better than a footnote - all those years of paying membership fees. The fans do not have any representation now..
