Re: Peter Gooch

Really sad news.

Dad and I regularly chatted to Peter on the terraces.

He loved the club and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Supporters Trust when it started.

RIP

Re: THAT OLD CHESTNUT

I always thought Yellow by Coldplay would have been a good track to play after a win but the Alex Parks version which is much more upbeat. I think the prematch music should be an opportunity to showcase local talent and unsigned bands. The club were involved in Rhythms of The World 2019 with bands p...

Re: Hitchin Town v Rushall Olympic #WATG # IWD2022

Perhaps it's more important to the fans than the players and management but for me kicking towards Fishponds Road second half was always a big thing. I still look at it as the home end. I remember us beating Rugby in our first season in the Southern Premier. 2-0 down at half time, Gavin Jaggard come...

Re: League Table

Spot on Rupe. I am on nightshifts at the moment and followed the game from home. I checked the Southern League Website soon after the game finished to see the other scores and found we had been listed as a 0-0 draw and the table on the Southern site had us below Bromsgrove. The Southern has now upda...

Re: Coalville and fans

Thanks Neil another cracking article. It's interesting and honestly I do think sometimes quality over quantity is better/nicer for all involved. I think building supporters slowly, by making improvements and encouraging more diverse crowds is the way forward. No one really wants to have the atmosph...

Re: Hitchin v St. Ives.

Superb result today.

For various reasons the last game I've been able to get to was AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
Best I go into permanent exile

Re: BACK IN THE DIM AND DISTANT

I was at the game as a ten year old. I have to be honest I can remember nothing of the actual game on the pitch. I have one overriding memory of the day which was stopping Cambridge United Manager, Ron Atkinson, in his sheepskin coat, very Malcolm Allisonesque, in the corner of the Fishponds Road en...
