Sounds like a much improved performance, let's hope the momentum continues.

Re: Time for change?
Maybe, but still 315 minutes since we scored a goal!
Re: Time for change?
Some people want everything! Also over 100 minutes since we conceded a goal
Re: Time for change?
Overall, were Hitchin really poor, or were Leiston just too good? Interesting managerial team at Leiston - Darren Edie,
ex-Norwich City, and Chris Wigger who served his coaching apprenticeship in the Anglian Combination.

Fancy passing up the chance of a straight overhead kickJacqueline Mary wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 5:07 pm
In the first half Luke Brown had two good opportunities to score within a short range of goal. The first time he should have turned the ball but just passed it to the opposition. The second time was an opportunity for a straight overhead kick, as a supporter standing near by commented.
Re: Time for change?
The new manager would very likely be one of the current coaching team. So, would it make a sigificant difference to the team's performance. Bringing in better players means higher wages, which the club appears unable to pay.
Re: Time for change?
No one is getting any pleasure at telling it as it is . We all want the best for the club but the facts speak for themselves, we are in trouble and at this time and imo the manager is struggling so I think we need to make hard decisions
Re: Time for change?
I think Hitchin are in the wrong league for attracting better players, regardless of paying higher wages. Too much travelling in comparison, it seems, to the Isthmian League. Hitchin's position is not just down to the manager, or coaching staff, other factors all seem to be combining together. Oh for the days of loaning a Mike Small who can score 40 goals in a season.
Re: Time for change?
We've scored twice in the last six games, that's once every 270 minutes, and we sit comfortably at the bottom of the table. Clearly we have a problem Houston. The current squad have had plenty of opportunity to show what they're capable of, which doesn't appear to be much, so we need either to make changes or resign ourselves to relegation. Mark has probably done his best to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, so either Andy or some other generous benefactor opens his/her wallet and we improve the squad (which won't be an easy task at this early stage to the season), or Mark is replaced by some inspirational replacement with contacts.
I agree with Michael D, our best days were with the Isthmian League, which is much more 'local'. Players at this level don't want long journeys to uninspiring venues.
