Very saddened to learn from Chris Blackburn this morning that sadly Connie passed away peacefully yesterday evening aged 92.
A club stalwart of very many years and last surviving of the ladies who ran the tea bar and board room at the far end of the main stand.
RIP Connie.

Re: Connie Blackburn
Thank you for the update Darren. That is very sad news!
What a wonderful age. Would be really lovely to hear peoples memories of her.

Re: Connie Blackburn
Talking to Chris again late this evening I think the best complement I can give is she made the best cup of tea I ever tasted.
Re: Connie Blackburn
My commiserations to Chris and family.
Not sure about the tea Darren, but Connie was undoubtedly a great club servant, ever ready to lend a hand and support in whatever way she could.
A lovely lady.
Chris - pop up and visit sometime - do you fancy playing with the tannoy wiring? I think we are still using the same gear.

Nice lady and a real stalwart. RIP, Connie.
Re: Connie Blackburn
Bumped into Chris today and expressed my and the Club's condolences.
Typically Chris's response was to remind that at 92 she had had a good innings.
As I suspected, he wanted me to outline to him the electrics of the tannoy now. No idea I told him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he pops up to do an inspection.
We are still using the amp that Chris provided those years ago.
