The thing is, this wasn't such a bad match for Hitchin, although the score line suggests otherwise. The first 28mins Hitchin played some excellent attacking moves, and could have been at least two goals up. But gradually, Royston were making several attacking moves themselves, especially down the left wing, and Hitchin would be happy to go in at halftime holding onto a their slender lead.Unfortunately, a goal conceded in first half added time put paid to that.
The second half, was turned upside down by two goals scored by Royston in as many minutes, seemed that there was so much space between the defence and the midfield, both goals coming with balls pinged into the middle and leaving the defence with one on one situations, which was exploited.Nevertheless, Hitchin continued to play with some positive moves, and scored an excellent goal near the end to make the scoreline more realistic. But before that, Royston played with confidence, especially with a two goal cushion.
