Wet, damp, windy, cold and numb toes, and that's before kick off,but soon warmed up with the outstanding performance from the thin yellow line of the defence, hook or by crook, they somehow got the ball away with a sterling, gritty and never say die attitude, that ran through the whole team.Rushden, were quick and had different players just dribbling towards goal, and boxed Hitchin in by moving swiftly to the halfway line.It seemed inevitable, that they would score, as after Hitchin had a bright opening, Rushden scored the opening goal.It looked bleak from then on,but Hitchin were quick to reply, and it remained all square at halftime.
With the defence, holding firm, it was up to the forwards, to make their claim for a goal. This Hitchin team have got strikers that score goals, and with time running out, they did just that. There was plenty of heart stopping moments before that though,as Rushden are a very good side, and would have been disappointed with the result, but credit to Hitchin, they managed some fine moves, with that thin yellow line intact.

It really is nice to see the young team we have, lifting themselves up and keep going. It was a scruffy match but it got the result. Hopefully their confidence will keep growing.
Lovely to see us scoring goals. Well done
