Looking at some stats - given the number of games played by teams in our division ranges from 21-27 along with Alvechurch's 18, Hitchin's lofty position of 6th could be viewed as "well they're only there because they've played most games".
However, given all the other teams can't all win all their games in hand, if you look at all teams' Points Per Game at the moment Hitchin would still be in a healthy 7th position.
