Many people thought this was going to be a long hard afternoon with HTFC getting a beating. How wrong everyone was to be as Hitchin matched Leiston throughout the game. We started at pace and kept this up for the whole match never letting Leiston settle into the game. Overall we looked and played the better team, even a couple of their supporters said they were rubbish today. The nice thing to see was that we never dropped deep as the game went on, like on many occasions, except towards the end when down to 10 men, but even then we held firm and still gave Leiston trouble.
Silly first yellow for Toby, but a lesson learned I think.
Let`s take nothing away from the team and this very good performance by all, and well done to Mark for getting the tactics spot on.
Tamworth will not be easy this saturday but if we play like today who knows we may sneak a win.
