To a neutral watching this game it looked like a relegation match with missed chances by both teams. Hednesford probably had the better clear cut chances to score and if not for some stout defending Hitchin could have been on the score sheet. Hitchin played their usual attractive football and for 20 odd minutes pushed Hednesford back but failed to take advantage at this point. It was a swift 24th minute attack that bought the only goal and from then on the match was even. Probably a missed chance for HItchin to take 3 points.
The remaining 6 matches of the season will be tough, 3 matches against teams trying to avoid relegation so the team need to be up for these matches.
