The first thing that hit me when I walked into the ground was the pitch, it was immaculate,Emerald Green and glistening in the bright sunshine. As for the match,we had two teams,one wanting not to drop closer to the relegation Zone,and the other hovering just above it.Basically the stakes were high,and both teams played with high energy,and not willing to give ground.The only goal was scored by Josh Allen, who reacted like greased lightening to a rebound off the keeper, after a long range shot from Layne Eadie.A great save by Charlie Horlock,diverting the ball onto the post saved the day along with the rest of the tireless players who were determined to keep Stratford at bay as they looked for an equaliser.Finley Wilkinson did hit the post with a well worked free kick in the second half, but at the end of the day,we can now enjoy the Herts Senior Cup Final, and concentrate on winning that without the lingering concern of relegation.
