Romiley Melville Vaughan Furr
Canary and Bluebird.
Born in Hitchin on 20th May 1910. Between 1931 and 1934 he played 43 games for Hitchin, scoring 3 goals (thank you Fishponder), before moving on to Letchworth. Shown on our stats as 'Ron' Furr, his true abbreviated moniker should read 'Rom'.
He played centre half in the 6-0 Amateur Football Alliance Senior Cup Final victory over Derbyshire Amateurs.
He died on 25th May 1990 in Gamlingay, Cambridgeshire, an area where the Romiley name is common.
