Getting wet in the rain throughout the match did not seem to matter as Hitchin put on one the best away performances I have seen this season. The pitch held up to the weather and both teams put on an entertaining game of football. I thought when Halesowen had a penalty near the end that we would go home not only disappointed with a draw but maybe a defeat, but no the penalty was saved and later we went down the other end and scored securing a 3-1 win.
One can`t say how well all the players performed and even the subs came on at the right time (well done Mark) giving the needed fresh legs which resulted in 2 goals. How often can one see a goalkeeper score and save a penalty in the same match ??. Thanks to the Halesowen fans I spoke to who as usual were a friendly bunch.
