The priority has to be getting a centre forward from somewhere .. I thought we played quite well at times and it definitely wasn't a 3-0 hammering but our possession always fizzles out without a natural poacher /target man to cause a nuisance as much as anything else

Strange that Pipeman's match report mentions the 50/51 season as being the worst. 51/52 was far worse. Taking league games only in 50/51 we had 18 points from 30 games (30%). In 51/52 11 points from 30 games (18.33%). I agree there were 20 defeats in 50/51 (18 league 2 other). In 51/52 we suffered 28 defeats (24 league 4 other).
51/52 saw also our worst run of consecutive league defeats (13).
