B'wade have the ball in the net but ruled offside!
Some good early Hitchin crosses so far.
Efforts by Key and Hewitt go wide for Waders.

GOAL 1-0 Hitchin - Kane thunderbolt catches everyone by surprise!

GOAL 2-0 Lench's first effort hits the bar but he follows up to double lead.

GOAL 2-1 Pen as ball hits Webb's arm. Johnson tips Effiong's spotkick onto the post but it bounces in.

HALF TIME Waders 1 Hitchin 2

Freekick by Walster cleared by Waders.
YELLOW for Waders Parker.
Shot over by Hoeness and a save by Johnson as Waders press.
Good save by Johnson from an Effiong freekick.

GOAL 3-1 Spence gets to a cross and heads over the defender for Lench to get a decisive header.

SUB Callum for Brooks
Jinking run by Burns but he's crowded out by 5 defenders!
Shot by Callum gathered by keeper
SUB Brett for Spence
Shot by Lench gathered by the keeper so no hattrick.
But nearly gets it as he skips past 3 players but hits the cross bar.
FINAL SCORE B'wade 1 Hitchin 3

Cracking win again - well done lads.

Chippenham held 2-2 by Frome, Leamington went down 1-0 to a last kick of the game Banbury winner and Slough went down 1-2 at home to Chesham. I'd consider that a cracking start to the new year.

Good performance, I reckon better than our last two! Matty so unlucky at the end not to get his hat-trick when he hit the bar after a mazy run and shot.

Kane's goal - definitely in the top four for this season. Brilliant shot. Ian Brown the Biggleswade 'keeper turned to us and said: "Why do you always save your best for me???".

Great result though, better than I was expecting. Carry on like this and we can make the Top Ten! Stratford on Saturday will not be easy.

A great start to the New Year where after a indifferent start Hitchin controlled the game with excellent passing . I thought Lench was outstanding today as they all were and theres no reason why this team cant continue the way we are. Its also nice to see a Hitchin team where youre not hanging on at the end and looking for more goals. Great display !!

There's nothing better then watching your team win when your best mate and some of your other school mates are standing at the far end cheering on the opposition.

Great win and excellent performance. Lenchie, Kane Smith and Mason were outstanding.

I was thinking earlier in response to Chris N's comment of how many time's Brownie has been on the receiving end of a defeat by us. Probably a shocking stat that one.

To be fair to the guy he is one of the characters of this league and whenever he is in goal you can have a laugh with him.

As far as the performance goes great but not our best in my opinion. I cant help thinking we are going through a quiet patch in form but if we're winning while we are doing that no reason to think we cant win this thing.

I thought there was some great attacking play today and we used width really well. As others have said, Lenchie and Kane were excellent. The suspensions have also created good competition for places. Will Wright is giving Lewis a run for his money in terms of getting his place back.

Nice to see Chris Nunn, Biggleswade Manager, tweet ahead of the game that Hitchin are "the best team in the league". And today's other results have made the top of the league look very interesting.

Nunn also tweeted that today was likely to be Inih Effiong's last game for Biggleswade with him being "full time football bound". Does anyone know where he is going to?
