Early freekick to Frome taken by Davies but straight into Johnson's arms. A second from the same player on the opposite side of the box forces the keeper into a sharper save which goes for a corner.
Already shaping up to be a tough match.
CHANCE - Callum pass splits the defence to find Lench coming in behind the defenders. His shot from the edge of the box goes wide.
Shot by George Miller after Webb is robbed on the edge of the Hitchin box. Gathered by Johnson.
CLOSE - Hitchin freekick nodded down by Webb to Callum. whose shot is deflected. From the corner Wright's shot is deflected. The attack ends with the ref lecturing Kris Miller, Burns & Webb.
CLOSE - Josh Bickerstaff freekick nodded on by Dan Webb but headed over by Will Wright.
BREAK - Hitchin clear from a Frome corner through Lench. He finds Kirkpatrick whose cross field pass picks out Callum but his lobbed shot lacks power & placement.

Closest yet as Kane picks up the ball in his own half, runs through the FRome defence and fires from the edge of the box. The shot smashes against the bar!
UNder pressure from Rolfe, Roberts dives and handballs. Again Hitchin denied from the freekick.
SUB Jeffries for Bryant for Frome.

GOAL 1-0 (45) Frome as Fitzgibbon beats Kane, cuts back to MIller who squares for Jeffries to fire in from the edge of the area.

Snapshot by Burns is gathered by Phillips.

Back under way after the half time presentation to Sands charity.

GOAL 1-1 (50) - a Kane cross causes problems in the Frome box. Brett gets an initial header but then follows up to poke home the ball!

SAVE - Johnson palms away a George Miller shot.
GREAT PLAY - Burns and Brett tee up Lench but his shot is just wide.
SAVE - direct approach down the right wing between Brett and Lench sees the latter's shot saved by Phillips.
SAVE Jackson wriggles free of Josh but his shot is easily collected by Johnson.
SAVE - great through pass by Lucas finds Burns 1 on 1 with the keeper but Phillips blocks the shot.
This game is suddenly very open with both sides committing men forward.
YELLOW CARD - Kane SMith

GOAL 1-2 (66) from the Davies freekick, Frome win a free header which bounces to Jackson who slots home on the turn.

YELLOW CARD Green

GOAL 2-2 (70) as Webb stoops to head home a far post cross!

YELLOW CARD Krissy Miller
SUB Frome Knight for Jackson
SUB Spence for Callum
Lench set up by Lucas but his cross is palmed away by the diving Phillips.
SUB McNamara for Lench
SUB Brooks for Brett
CHANCE - Davies breaks the offside trap but fires wide.
MOTM - Lucas
FINAL SCORE Hitchin 2 Frome 2 - a hard fought point even though the winning run comes to an end.

We played the much better football against a whinging physical team who were decent when they wanted to be, on another day it would have been a comfortable win but we again didn't take the chances that came our way, it was a very entertaining game of football

It just wasn't our day today, they had two chances of any real note and scored from both of them where we had quite a few again and didn't put them away. We were by far the better side even though Frome were well organised and looked to play on the break. We can't win every game and for sure a few seasons ago this would have been a loss.I'm not sure what the crowd was but looked a decent one.Had to laugh at the Frome keeper near the end who went down and stayed down as mortally wounded, and when realising the game was going to carry on suddenly leaped up in a instance, embarrassing !!

We certainly created enough clear chances to have won the game, but the finishing let us down. Can't use the excuse of "we need a striker" as the missed chances were spread thoughout the team and our main striker did score.

Had a nasty feeling that as Frome were the last team to beat us at home in a league game (not counting Hungerford as that was not a league game!) it would be typical of the way that football goes that they would do it again, so at least we got a point and kept the scoreboard moving.

With 2nd to 5th separated by a point, but 9 points clear of 6th, there's a danger that Chippenham are going to slip away at the front and leave the other four jockeying for home advantage in the play-offs.

A very healthy attendance today and nice to see queues at the turnstiles, long may that continue.

I agree on another day we would have lost but lots of real spirit shown to come back twice from being behind. The Frome number 2 and 6 were shameful in their gamesmanship and deservedly booked. If Frome actually stopped playing dying swans every time they were touched they may discover they can actually play good football and win matches. Overall a very entertaining second half and at least we got the point. Tuesday night and the real test beckons in the Valleys! Best of luck to the team for one of the possible games of the season.

We are going to encounter games like this one in the run in - thing is so will other teams as well. But for me it was an entertaining game and a good point. We'd have lost that game last year (and we did!), but we ground out a point and it might with better finishing have been three.

You can also look at the table and say that although Chippenham have an eight point top at the top, we have three games in hand, and if we can beat Chippenham at home that gap will become less and less....

That said, Chippenham have only got Merthyr at home and us away out of the top five. They've got a few games against mid-table teams - the likes of Chesham, Biggleswade, Dunstable, Basingstoke and Snives - so it depends if any of those teams fancy it on the day. Have to admit they are best placed - but if we can perform as well as they do and beat them, well??? Slough have got mainly mid-table and relegation threatened teams, including Cinderford twice. They will have a lot of teams scrapping at them and who knows how good they will be when they are not allowed to play. Leamington have a number of teams from the top 10 who will still have the incentive to play - Frome, Banbury, Kettering - but only us from the top five. And Merthyr have us and Frome at home, and Chippenham mid March, then on paper the easiest run in.

So yes we have the toughest run in of the five - but most of our key games are at home. Maintaining consistency will be what wins the day.

Well caught picture Peter. Appalling action by their captain :nono: which we all clearly saw...bar the ref
I thought the lads fought very hard in the second half and were unfortunate not to get a winning goal. But hold your heads up lads....bigger fish to fry on Tuesday. Get well rested and come out ready for Merthyr
