Really good result - we went for a point and got a point. Well done to the players and management and huge respect to the travelling fans.
And Parker's back!

Like most others, I would have taken a draw at the start - just that when we were 2-1 up..... Aaaaargh!

Really proud of the lads who worked so hard. We nearly consigned Merthyr to their first home defeat of the season. We'll done to all those who made the journey tonight, over 20 I think - so here's hoping for 50+ at Redditch!!

So on to Kings Lynn on Saturday. They are unbeaten in ten - it will be tough!

Keep it going lads!

Excellent performance last night. A shame we couldn't hold on but a draw was probably a fair result. Given Slough losing the real winners last night were Chippenham.

In torrential rain and a forty mile an hour swirling wind we started brightly with the wind blowing towards the Merthyr goal.
Could and should have had a penalty in the first few minutes as a high booted challenge on Burns missed ball and hit him in the chest. The ref gave a corner when it should have been either a penalty or goal kick.
From the resulting short corner Will Wright hit a low shot that was cleared off the line when heading for the far corner.

Merthyr were very quick and direct, down either flank or through the middle and after a bright start we conceded when MJ got down to a low shot but the ball appeared to loop up off his leg and had enough power to find the back of the net.

However we still kept playing our football and fully deserved our equaliser. Brooksy hitting a skewed shot from a corner that spun in off the post.
From then onwards we looked the better side although Merthyr were always dangerous.

Second half was less fluent. Merthyr continued to press but most of their crosses caught the wind and ended up in MJ's arms or behind the dead ball line.
We took a deserved lead around the hour mark when a corner from the right eluded the keeper and defenders who appeared to get in each others way and Dan Webb had a fairly easy task of hitting a side foot volley into the net from three yards.

Merthyr made changes and kept pressing even after the sending off. We looked fairly comfortable until the final few minutes. MJ made a fantastic save pushing the ball into the air as he went down, it looked like the wind was taking the ball back towards goal, he then threw himself at the ball, pushing it away basketball style only for it to be bundled back towards the line. It was cleared again but the lino adjudged it has crossed the line.

Both sides looked for a winner with Merthyr hitting the post and also heading wide.

A really good, hard working performance in difficult conditions. We also had four missing from Saturday and with youngsters on the bench, Burkey quite rightly kept the same eleven throughout. Liam Brooks deserves a mention, came into the starting line up and worked really hard, chasing down every back pass and came up with a vital goal to get us back in the game.

Good support last night. Got home at 3.20am.

Good result, thanks for the report Brian, and for the updates Jackie. Sounds like we were a tad unlucky not to get three points.

Brilliant result. With a stronger referee I feel we would have won it.

A stone wall penalty claim turned down in the first 10 minutes. I felt we was just good for the win but I would have taken a point before the game.

Great result, although tantalisingly close to an even better one!

Well done lads.
