GOAL! 1-0 Hitchin - Callum Donnelly with a dipping angled shot in the second minute!
Just wide from Mason Spence as the ball surprisingly rolls through to him.
Ball bobbles in the Linnets box but Lench can't get the right connection.
GOAL 2-0 (13) Robbie Burns gets a toe on the ball to deflect it over Street!
Shot wide by McWilliams for Linnets after a hurried clearance by Johnson.
OFFSIDE - Spence nods on to Burns who finds the net ... but flag was up!
Doesn't matter ...
GOAL 3-0 (24) Spence to Burns to Lench who curls a shot past Street.
Chance as Johnson doesn't gather cleanly. Linnets shot cleared for corner and the keeper gathers calmly.
GOAL 4-0 (43) Kirkpatrick slots home after keeper palms a Burns shot aside after Callum plays him in.
HALF TIME Hitchin 4 Kings Lynn 0 - total football from the Canaries!

I missed two of the goals - at the start of each half. Great performance, very accomplished, and has done our goal difference a power of good. Overtaken Slough, caught Leamington up, only Merthyr and Chippenham have better goal differences.

Now we need to keep feet on the ground and produce more of the same on Monday night.

I've said it tonight to Burkey, but I think we will win promotion as champions.

There's no reason at all this group of players can't win the league. We are playing with so much confidence and belief at the moment and completely blew Kings Lynn away in the first half with some lovely football. No team is going to fancy themselves playing at Top Field at the moment and as long as we keep our feet on the ground we can go a step further than last year
Speaking to a couple of older supporters before the game they were saying how much they were enjoying the sort of football we were playing the last few years. This group of players really do deserve bigger crowds to watch them so that's tell your mates, family to get up there for the remainder of the season.

The team played very well today but they face several of the top teams at home over the next couple of months and the game against Leamington on 25th March will be a real test! We need to qualify as champions now and that should be the focus going forwards. We have the talent and ability to do this and avoid the agony of the play offs.

Speaking to a couple of King's Lynn fan's over a pint pre match yesterday to be fair they predicted they would get a good hiding today. The management change mid-week has resulted in some players leaving and he quoted he expected nothing less than what they got today. Fair play to our guy's you can only beat what is put in front of you and they did it as well as I could have expected.

I spoke to one player on Friday night who ive known a good few years and feel what he said to me is worth sharing. We have two months of team's that will play us with cup final mentality if not in the promotion/relegation chase. As supporters it's important to understand that we have a fairly young squad and it's as important now than at any point during the season to support and encourage the best we can. The next two months will be the most difficult of the season.

I for one agree with him.

We've been building up for a big win for a number of weeks. However, yesterday I was at my niece's wedding (did she not check the fixture list!) The Hitchin result was, at least, referenced by the father of the bride in his speech.

Here's hoping I get to see a hatful against Dorchester on Monday night.
