Haha well that lasted long! So now the club will be left with a wage-bill and infrastructure that it cannot sustain, all thanks to the experiment of a local plonker. It makes you all the more pleased that HTFC is run and managed by a group of sensible, intelligent, level-headed individuals who genuinely have the clubs best interests at heart and understand our place in the non-league game. Not just those who want to print a HTFC badge on the front of their Ferrari.

It gets more and more bizarre - http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/166836 ... e-anymore/
Should anyone be surprised? His valuation of the club is on the deluded side as well.

Are you now the official spokesperson for the Hitchin Town FC Management Committee?
Totally unnecessary Jackie. It's just a well expressed opinion of a club helper who is doing an unbelievable amount of work and spending an incredible amount of time to try to bring the club forward in the Media/Social Media aspects of the operation. Whether or not you agree with it, he doesn't deserve snide and disrespectful comments.

If canaryhatter does not deserve disrespectful comments, why is it OK for him to call someone who has invested a great deal of money in his local club a plonker? Surely respect is a two way street.

Tamplin is on an ego trip and he's only running this vanity project at Billericay because he couldn't get his claws into Dagenham & Redbridge. He sacked his manager Harry Wheeler and now says he wants to reinstate him before letting go of the club. He has also sacked himself and reinstated himself. And all the while paying way over the odds to buy promotion. He then throws his toys out of the pram when the team loses a couple of games. Fit and proper person?

This is not the sort of ownership & management that I would like to see. (Ron Noades was bad enough.) Is it a surprise Tamplin gets deserved flak?!

BTW Who are the mysterious "several" who have been referred to on this thread and elsewhere? Let them post on the forum (on a more relevant thread) in the spirit of debate so we know they are not just a fantasy. Perhaps if there are enough of them, we might move toward a fan-owned club?

I confess I forgot to seek out a Banbury supporter on Saturday to ask how their fan owned club worked (as suggested in this thread: https://hitchintownfc.club/phpbb/viewto ... 8217#p8217 ), so although Keith had a bit of a stab at it in that thread, nobody else has come forward to explain how they work and I find it hard to believe there are a load of wealthy Hitchin supporters waiting in the wings to band together to take control of the club if the current owners and management decided to chuck it all in and walk away (why should they though?).

So I ask again, if someone who wants to see the club become a fan owned club could explain how it would work exactly (or even roughly) I'm all ears.

If any of those wealthy (or any not so wealthy) individuals would like to start contributing towards the club's ambitious future in advance of a takeover, the Supporters Trust would be delighted to receive an early cash injection. Just drop me a line to get signed up.

The reason I wanted to know if Canary Hatter is or is not a spokesperson for the Hitchin Town Management Committee is because from his comments above he holds them in very high esteem and he is entitled to his opinion, but as he holds them in such high esteem there are several of us who would like to know if someone from the Hitchin Town Management Committee or even yourself Chris as a spokesperson for the Forum will acknowledge or deny the rumours that are flying thick and fast about the secret discussions to move HTFC from Top Field to The Priory School??? Simple question requiring a simple answer. Yes or No???
This topic is about Billericay, Jackie. :-D

Doesn't necc require wealthy individuals, Rupe, just a collective enthusiasm.

Although they are not a guarantee of success on or off the field.
Chris, you'll have to split this thread!
