A FOOTBALL MATCH was played at Hitchin on Saturday, 3rd February 1855 between the local club and the Luton Excelsior. The home team won by five goals to none.
Luton Times and Advertiser Tuesday 6th February 1855

A match was played at Hitchin last week between the Woodlands School, Hitchin, and the Mead House School, Biggleswade. The home team being much the stronger had matters pretty much their own way and won by six goals to one.

A match was played on Saturday, 3rd March 1855, between the Hitchin Rangers and the Woodlands School. The latter won by four goals to two.
