Under the auspices of Hitchin Football Club and the Hitchin Cricket Club. Wednesday 24th April 1867. At the Cricket Ground, London Road, Hitchin.

100 yards (1) G.D.Baker (2) F.Latchmore . First prize, a silver cup. Second prize, a seal skin purse.

Throwing the Cricket Ball (1) G.D.Baker 93 yards 4ins (2) John Taylor 87 yards 2 feet. 5 competitors. First prize, a meerschaum pipe. Second prize, a cricket ball.

One Mile (1) Francis Shillitoe 5 minutes 10 seconds (2) A.R.Lee (3) A.Delme Radcliffe. 7 competitors-3 finishers. First prize, a silver drinking cup. Second prize, a telescopic drinking cup.

High Jump (1) William Tindall Lucas 5 feet 1 inch (2) J.Elgood 4 feet 10 inches. 4 competitors. First prize, a dressing case (awarded to Mr J.Elgood,as no competitor could take more than two prizes).

Hurdle Race (150 yards, 10 flights) (1) William Tindall Lucas (2) G.D.Baker. 14 competitors. First prize, a dressing case. Second prize, an eight bladed knife.

Visitors' Race (1) Mr U.Smith, Hertford (2) Mr Foule, Hertford. 5 starters. Prize, a silver goblet.

Quarter of a Mile (1) Francis Shillitoe (2) A.J.Tuck (3) L.Thomson. 9 competitors. Prize, a silver flagon.

Running Long Jump (1) Mr Lucas 15 feet 5 inches (2) G.A.Phillips 14 feet. 5 competitors. Prize, a fishing rod.

Quarter Mile Handicap (1) L.Seager (2) William Tindall Lucas. 14 competitors. First prize, a writing case. Second prize, a pair of cricket pads.

Throwing the Hammer (16lbs) (1) A.J.Tuck 60 feet 4 inches (2) Cecil Frederick Reid 59 feet. First prize, a seal skin cigar case. Second prize, a pair of cricket gloves.

Two Miles Flat Race (1) A.R.Lee (2) Francis Shillitoe. 4 started. Prize, a dressing case.

Consolation Race (1) Mr F.Farmer (2) F.Lucas (3) A.D.Radcliffe. Prize, a set of quoits.

Reports from the Hertford Mercury and the Hertfordshire Express, both published 27th April 1867; there are some small differences in the prize winners named by each, which, owing to the passage of time.................................................
