The Southern League have issued a Press Release on their website relating to Hitchin Town’s continuation in the City Securities Services League Challenge Cup.

In response to the Southern League’s Press Release, Chris Newbold, Fixtures Secretary and Club Administrator, who represented the Club at their FA appeal, had the following comment:

“I am pleased that this whole matter has been resolved. Without going into any detail about the matter, I am just grateful that the FA saw it as appropriate to uphold our appeal and reached a solution which brings about a fair and just outcome for all parties concerned.

We will learn from this unfortunate incident, and we welcome the opportunity to continue our defence of the Cup that we won last season”.

Hitchin Town will now replay the City Securities Services League Challenge Cup First Round match at Royston Town on Tuesday 11th December, subsequently postponing the League fixture vs King’s Lynn Town the following evening.  This will be rearranged in due course.
