We’re delighted to confirm our official mascot for the season opener versus Stourbridge at Top Field this Saturday will be Canaries superfan Rowan Walker!

In order to get the know the young man who will be leading us into the new season, here is a little bit about him from Dad, Russell.

Rowan is a 7 year old boy from Hitchin who has Panhypopituitatism and Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome. Panhypopituitatism is a hormonal condition that he needs to take medication for several times a day, and have regular hospital visits. Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome (WSS) meanwhile is a recently discovered rare genetic condition. It means that Rowan has some physical differences and has learning difficulties. Rowan loves coming to Hitchin games (here he is with ex-Canary Trey Charles at St. Neots last season) and has made lots of friends thanks to the friendly atmosphere and warm community spirit at the club.

In order to raise awareness of Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome – please take a look at the foundation website.

Cannot wait to welcome you on Saturday, Rowan. 🙂
