Hitchin Town Football Club start their pre-season campaign on Wednesday 10th July 2019 when they entertain Stevenage FC at Top Field, 7:45pm kick off.

The match between North Hertfordshire’s top two football clubs will also be broadcast live on North Herts FM with the Hitchin Town Football Commentary Programme, proudly sponsored by Henlow Building Supplies. Following last season’s very successful partnership between Hitchin Town Football Club and North Herts FM, both parties will continue to bring you more live commentary of Hitchin Town football matches during the 2019/20 season. Updates on forthcoming fixtures being broadcast live on North Herts FM will be updated via the weekly bulletin from Roy Izzard, so be sure to keep an eye out for that each Friday afternoon.

Last season’s commentary success also resulted in commentator Freddie Cardy recently being awarded The Herts FA 2019 Grassroots Supporter Of The Year.

The North Herts FM Commentary Team of Rob Lamarr and Brian Gray will be your hosts bringing you full, live commentary of the game with the programme starting at 7:30pm.

Both managers have been busy assembling their squads for the 2019/20 season and Wednesday evening’s fixture will be the first chance for many supporters to see their new heroes. However, the backroom arrivals have been as equally important with Dino Maamria, Stevenage FC Manager announcing the appointments of former England Women’s Head Coach Mark Sampson, who took the Lionesses to the 2015 Women’s World Cup Semi Final and former Luton Town, Leicester City and Manchester City forward, David Oldfield, as First Team Coaches.

Hitchin Town Manager Mark Burke, has also appointed a new First Team Coach in the form of Brett Donnelly. The influential player/coach returns to the Club he helped to the 2016/17 Southern League Premier Division Play-Off Final.

Both managers will be looking to improve on last season’s league placings. Burke will be looking to build on last season’s Emirates FA Cup success that saw the Canaries reach the First Round for the first time in 23 years whilst Maamria will be hoping The Boro, who missed the Sky Bet League Two Play-Off’s by an agonising one point, can go better this coming season and has set a target of 80+ points, which based on last season’s table would see Stevenage reach automatic promotion.

And the only place you can hear full, live, uninterrupted commentary of Wednesday evening’s match is on Hitchin Town Football Commentary Programme, on North Herts FM.

Join the Commentary Team from 7:30pm to hear a pre-match interview with Hitchin Town Manager Mark Burke to get his thoughts on the coming season.
