The game with Letchworth City Garden Eagles tonight is pay what you want. After discussion with the Letchworth GC officials it has been decided that all profits from the game will be donated to Brandles School which is in Baldock and caters for boys with emotional, behavioural and mental health needs.

Hitchin Town played Letchworth GC for the Vince Paige Cup in February which we won on penalties. The Cup will be at stake tomorrow and it was set up in memory of Vince who was a co-founder of the Eagles in 1979. He became chairman and life president and was known as ”Mr Eagles”.

The Eagles Chairman Tony Eden said: “Vince devoted a lot of his life to children and to the football club. He’s one of those people who gave more than he received back. His passion, motivation and reward was to see local children develop and enjoy themselves through football regardless of their ability”. The Vince Paige Cup is a good way to remember what he did for the Eagles.

Please be warned the tea bar will not be open for the game due to the farewell party that is taking place for Ian and Jackie Mann who leave Canary Club tomorrow. Normal service will resume on Thursday.
