Two of the Hitchin Town Youth FC U13 teams are set for cup finals soon.

The U13 Panthers have reached the final of the prestigious Hertfordshire FA County Cup which kicks off at 10:30 on Sunday 29 April. The final, against Maccabi London Lions, will take place at the County Ground in Letchworth, home of the Hertfordshire football association. Panthers are our representative team in the Eastern Junior Alliance (EJA), the highest level of youth football below the professional game Academy structure.

To reach the final, Panthers have overcome teams from Watford, Chorleywood, Ware and Bishops Stortford.

Nick Carr, the Panthers’ manager said, “I’m really proud of all of the boys in reaching the County Cup final in their first season together. They’ve shown incredible teamwork and tenacity in getting this far and played some delightful football. Whatever the result on Sunday I hope the boys enjoy the experience.”

The U13s Tigers team have been crowned champions in the top division of the Royston Crow league. With two games to go, the team have a 13 point lead over their closest rivals having gone unbeaten throughout the season. The boys are now gearing up for the final of the Meads Cup which will take place at The Bury in Buntingford on 6 May.

Congratulations to both teams and good luck in your cup finals.
