MANAGER’S NOTES WITH MARK BURKE
ST IVES
I felt that our overall performance merited at least a point and with 90 minutes showing on the clock I thought we had achieved that. But unfortunately poor defending saw us concede in stoppage time and we lost 3-2. It was a very entertaining game but that is no consolation when you return with no reward.
Even the St Ives manager told me after the game that the better team had lost but that only adds to the frustration. In the end it was a case of not being clinical with our chances at one end together with sloppy defending at the other end. But there were plenty of positives to take from the game as we played well despite the absence of the injured Cieran Jones and Steve Gleeson. It was good to see Jack Morrell back in the team after his long injury absence.
I would also like to thank our supporters who were at St Ives in such big numbers.
STOURBRIDGE
We welcome Stourbridge on Saturday after their magnificent 3-0 win away to table toppers Tamworth on Tuesday. They are in a rich vein of form and are unbeaten away from home since November. It goes without saying that we will need to be at our best to gain any points and it should be a very entertaining game with two in form sides. I hope our supporters return in similar numbers to the Bedford game and that we can reward them with a good performance and result.
COALVILLE
We face a daunting trip to Coalvile on Tuesday. They are in a play-off position and before this Saturday’s game have won 5 successive games. However I feel we have always given a good account of ourselves at Coalville in the past and we will be looking to earn some reward from this difficult trip.

CENTRAL DIVISION AVERAGE ATTENDANCE TABLE
ACADEMY UPDATE BY MICHAEL JONES
On Wednesday 8th February we had two away games.
In the first away game in Peterborough we started very strongly and controlled the game for the whole of the first half. This allowed us to create some really good chances and we scored 3 excellent goals. The first after a great bit of defending by Archie Collins, allowed Ewan Englebright to play a superb defence splitting pass to James Emmerson to finish past the keeper first time with great composure to give us the lead. The second goal came after an Evan Tweed free kick which the keeper made an excellent save but Ewan Englebright reacted superbly to score our goal of the day by chipping the keeper from a tight angle. The third goal came from a real composed finish from Tuoyo Okoturo. The first half ended 3-1 after a converted penalty by the home side right on the half time whistle.
Second half the home side started to dominate and an early goal gave them plenty of confidence to push for the equaliser. The young Canaries had to defend for most of the half to keep the score at 3-2. The young canaries put the game to bed with 10 minutes to go after Ryan Freeman broke out into the attacking half, he was fouled and a short quick free kick allowed Harrison Brown to strike the ball into the top corner from 30 yards out. Final score 4-2
In the second away game a strong performance from start to finish allowed us to run out 4-0 winners with goals coming from Harry Dollimore x2, Caleb Wright and Matthew Morton.
Two very strong performances, two wins and plenty of great goals to talk about made for a great Wednesday and the perfect way to end for the February half term break.
