MANAGER’S NOTES BY MICHAEL JONES

Redditch United
As predicted the game was called off due to storm Darragh on Saturday. I know we all would have missed our weekend without football but the correct decision was made due to the safety of everyone involved in the match day experience. With the weather as bad as it was, I can imagine the game would not have been an enjoyable watch anyway. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend of Christmas shopping and completing housework!

Tuesday
Liam Brooks, Kye Tearle, Bradley Bell and Billy Heaps all played for Baldock Town in their cup game against top of the table and unbeaten side MK Irish on Tuesday evening. The game finished 1-1 with Bradley Bell scoring the goal for Baldock. Liam Brooks and Kye Tearle also scored their penalties in the shootout but unfortunately this was not enough to help Baldock win.

I would like to thank everyone at Baldock for allowing these players to get some much needed minutes.

AFC Sudbury
AFC Sudbury pose one of the toughest away games in the division as things stand. They play on an all-weather pitch, which is always an advantage to any team who is used to playing on this type of surface. They also have an impressive home record where they are unbeaten in all 9 of their league games this season. They have scored in 8 out of 9 home games and have only conceded 6 goals. We know the extremely difficult challenge in front of us on Saturday just to get something out of the game but we go into it full of confidence and belief that we can cause an upset.

Player News

  • Liam Brooks, Kye Tearle and Bradley Bell all came through the match with Baldock and will be in the squad for Saturday.
  • Sam Carman should be back into full training next week.
  • Henry Snee has trained this week and will be in the squad.
  • Bradley Dixon – Smith picked up a knock in training this week and he will not be involved this weekend.
  • New signing Billy Heaps will be playing elsewhere this weekend as he looks to build his fitness up for the busy Christmas period.
