WEEKLY BULLETIN – 18TH JUNE
NEXT SEASON
After a short break training for next season will start next Thursday 24th June at the Arena. Let us hope we are able to return to normality and have a full season to look forward to.
LUTON PRE-SEASON FRIENDLY
As you will have seen we sold out the first batch of tickets to go on sale for the Luton game in just one day. We are now taking on board the latest FA and government recommendations and hope to have further news very shortly. Please check our social media outlets for updates next week.
ACADEMY UPDATE BY MICHAEL JONES
Now the season has finished we have been holding a few optional training sessions for the players. This time of year the players main focus is on completing their final assignments so they can sign off for the summer.
We have also had a number of players who have been invited to train with the Hitchin Town first team for pre season starting next week. We hope that they will have the opportunity to show everyone what they can do in the many pre season friendlies coming up.
On Wednesday 16th June we had a training session for the new recruits in the academy who will be starting in pre season. This allowed all players to get to know each other better and start to build relationships with the coaches. We are hoping to hold a few more sessions before the start of pre season.
SUPPORTER ENGAGEMENT UPDATE BY SASCHA GUSTARD-BROWN
I’m sure you’ve all seen the story published on Wednesday afternoon regarding our new mini mascots. It’s just a bit of fun and hopefully, our supporters will reach out with a couple of suggestions regarding names. Don’t forget, you can submit your suggestions via the official social media channels or via media@hitchintownfc.club.
I am also pleased to announce that the first phase of the new Junior Canaries website content is almost completed so hopefully, we can launch this in the coming weeks. The plan is to have a staggered increase/change in content throughout the season so if you have any ideas or suggestions on content/activities you would like to see, please do not hesitate to reach out by emailing media@hitchintownfc.club with the subject heading of Junior Canaries Content.
CANARY CLUB UPDATE BY MICK DOCKING
Our efforts continue to improve the look and feel of the Canary Club, with new signage embracing our corporate colours and re- branding.
Even better TV coverage of the Euros is available in the hall now with big screens at either end of the space, ensuring you don’t miss a minute of the action. All games will be shown live and everyone is welcome.
Socially distanced tables must be booked in advance to guarantee you a seat, thereby ensuring a covid safe visit for all. Tonight’s England game, needless to say, is sold out, but hopefully plenty more games to follow. Get down early to get in the mood.
Our on site food outlet Mobile Munchies offers our patrons quality take away food to soak up the beer. So its not only reasonably priced beers at just over £3 a pint but a tasty meal to build up a thirst.
Don’t forget, the hall is available to hire for special birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations. Ask behind the bar or pick up the phone and give us a call on 01462 421888 or 07857 983345.
MOBILE MUNCHIES
Mick mentioned Mobile Munchies providing a quality take away food service in his article above. I will be giving full details of this and the full extent of what Mobile Munchies will be providing on match days and throughout the week in a special article next week. But again it is a further improvement we will be able to offer as we continue to move the whole club forward.
MERCHANDISE UPDATE
Sales of our new brand merchandise continue to thrive. If you’ve thought about buying an item from the new range, be it a new shirt, hoodie or even a mug, scarf or pin badge – you can do so by clicking here.
As I have said before any purchase you make really does help our cash flow which has been so badly affected by Covid.
SEASON TICKETS
We fully appreciate the difficult time that our loyal supporters have had with interrupted and curtailed seasons for 2019-20 and 2020-21. Therefore we made the decision that all season tickets purchased for 2020-21 will be valid for the pre-season and League matches for the 2021-22 season. We will not be issuing new season tickets for 2020-21 season ticket holders – you will not need to do anything other than present your existing season tickets for scanning at the turnstiles, they will be automatically valid.
Season tickets for the new season are now on sale online, and prices are unchanged from last season. These are: adults £185, concessions (60-79) £110, teenagers £25, over 80s FREE. There is currently no child season ticket available – this may be a possibility later when crowd capacities are no longer restricted. These can be purchased by clicking here.
If you have any ticketing queries, we have tried to answer these in our ticketing Q & A section on the website. If you cannot find your answer there, you can email clubadmin@hitchintownfc.club to put your question.
