WEEKLY BULLETIN 9TH MAY

PREPARATIONS FOR 2025-26 BY MICHAEL JONES

Now the season has finished we are in the process of finalising plans for the upcoming season. We are currently in the process of reviewing everything from the previous seasons, to make sure we make the correct adjustments to see the required improvements on the pitch for the new season.

This is where the hard work starts and the off season at times becomes even busier than the football season, especially with the demands of recruitment.

Recruitment will be a major part of our rebuild for the 2025-26 season. We have arranged meetings and we are currently having ongoing conversations with potential new recruits for the upcoming season. Ones that will be able to buy into the values and ethos of the club as well as strengthen us in key areas to improve on the players we have retained from the previous season.

As any non-league club/manager will tell you this is a hard part of the year as the players want a break from football and all the managers want to try and secure a competitive squad, as well as the fact a lot of players are wanted by numerous clubs which makes negotiations even harder.

We will be trying our hardest to recruit the correct players who want to play for our club, supporters and volunteers and help us achieve our aims of having a positive season.

HITCHIN TOWN’S NEW HYBRID FOOTBALL ACADEMY BY MICHAEL JONES

Hitchin Town Football Club are pleased to announce that we have started an exciting new venture for the football club. We will now be starting a hybrid football academy which will be linked to the men’s first team.

We will be offering a Full Time Hybrid football academy for players released from the professional game, or alternatively elite grassroots players who are looking to progress up the football pyramid and experience senior football in a professional environment.

The opportunities for players include:

  • Signing for Hitchin Town FC and being given the opportunity to train/play with the Hitchin Town first team during the 2025-26 season.
  • Their own personalised development plan to include analysis and nutrition
  • Free training kit for the 2025-26 season
  • Pro:Direct Academy benefits include discounts on Pro:Direct Soccer, showcase events in front of scouts, brand opportunities and tickets for Premiership matches.

How the programme works

All players will train in the morning for at least 2 hours per day and this will consist of minutes on the pitch, gym work, nutrition, analysis, position specific training and 1-1 development work.

Players will also be involved in evening fixtures against other senior/professional teams as well as the opportunity to train with the men’s first team.

Education

All players will be required to study a Personal Trainer course which on successful completion will mean they will become a qualified personal trainer.
