WEEKLY BULLETIN – 9TH JUNE
MANAGER’S NOTES WITH MARK BURKE
It has been another good week on the recruitment front. Four more key players have agreed terms for next season. They are Ashley Hay, George Devine, Steve Gleeson and Josh Mollison. I think that in all my managerial career this is the best pre-season recruitment outcome that I have had.
I am still talking to other squad members from last season and am hopeful of a positive outcome. I am still also looking to add to the squad should the right player become available.
Unfortunately there has been one departure from Top Field this week as Steve Cawley has joined Margate. He received an offer that was too good to turn down and he knows the management team. I would like to thank Steve for his contribution to Hitchin Town. He is a very good player who unfortunately was very unlucky with injuries while with us which meant he was not able to play on a regular basis which impacted his performances.
PRE-SEASON UPDATE
The following games have now been confirmed and will take place at Top Field—
- Saturday 8th July Luton Town XI kick-off 3.00pm.

MARKET PLACE
This Saturday we will be in Hitchin Market Place from 9-3 as we look to promote the club and engage with the community as much as possible.
Please pop down to come and find out all about pre-season or to buy a hoodie or a shirt. We hope to see lots of current Canaries fans as well as getting a chance to speak to some potential new supporters.
POST-SEASON INTERVIEW WITH MARK BURKE BY FREDDIE CARDY
If you haven’t had a chance to listen to my end of season interview with Mark Burke, make sure to do so as we look back on a much improved 2022/23 campaign. Myself and Mark took a detailed look at the season and all of its highs and lows before answering questions from supporters and looking ahead to pre-season.

NEW PLAY AT THE QUEEN MOTHER THEATRE BY MATT GRAY
The play itself was originally going to be directed by my friend Keith Warren, who told me about his ideas for the show before he sadly died last year. Keith had a great love of the game, and in particular grass-roots football. This play is all about what happens in the dressing room, where games can be win or lost before a ball is even kicked. He was very active with Hitchin Town FC, and I hope that some of you will be able to make it to the show.
