CHARITY MATCH
The charity match for Sport Relief featuring Hitchin Boys School, Hitchin Girls School and Priory School which had to be postponed recently because of a waterlogged pitch has been rearranged for Wednesday 11 April at Top Field.
It starts at 5.00pm and finishes at 9.00pm. Entrance is £2.
WOMEN AT THE GAME
Congratulations to Kate Deller and her helpers for making Saturday’s Women at the Game event so successful. We had 110 female supporters present and Kate has had positive feedback despite the fracas on the pitch. We hope more female supporters will be seen at Top Field in the future.
GROUND GRADING
You will have seen on the main website that we have passed our ground grading and will not be reassessed until 2021. A great deal of work was carried out and the cost will exceed £6,000. Our Supporters Club have donated £3,000 towards this which was a great gesture.
The safety of the wooden terracing was of concern to the ground grading officials and they asked for a professional survey to be undertaken. We had this done and as a result had to replace any wood that was considered unsafe. Our wooden terracing is obviously synonymous with Top Field and we are pleased that despite any wooden terracing being frowned upon by the powers that be ours has now passed stringent safety tests and will continue to attract ground hoppers to our historic home.
