We can confirm that Callum Stead has agreed to join National League North side Kettering Town.

Callum had a short spell at South Shields earlier in the season but returned to Hitchin. However he was always looking to play at a higher level and new Kettering manager Ian Culverhouse has given him that opportunity.

Manager Mark Burke made the following statement—

I would like to thank Callum for his services to the club. He started the season very well and drew a great deal of attention from clubs throughout non-league football. Unfortunately his decision to move to South Shields was heavily influenced by his agent and in my opinion was not made in the player’s best interest.

It would be fair to say that on his return to Hitchin Callum was not the same player who had left but over the course of time his confidence grew again and the attention of other clubs also returned .

I wish him the best of luck at Kettering and with a good manager like Ian Culverhouse I am sure he can flourish at the higher level.
