Two Hitchin Town under 7s players made their debuts for Luton Town FC away to Southampton FC last Saturday. Both players, Jack Watson & Henry Nethersole, performed extremely well and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
They have been training with the Luton Town academy for the last two months and are due to play against Norwich City and AFC Bournemouth in the coming weeks.
The boys had only started played this season, making this an even more impressive achievement by their Hitchin Town Youth coaches, particularly Marc Campbell in their instance.
The role of a youth team coach is often overlooked at grassroots level, but the fact that Hitchin Town Youth players are being selected to represent local professional sides is testament to the dedication and hard-work which each of them put in on a weekly basis. A big well done to all.
